What is the UF Plant Science Symposium?
The UF Plant Science Symposium is a student-led event organized by the Plant Science Council that brings together students, researchers, and professionals to share discoveries, foster collaboration, and celebrate innovation in the plant sciences. This event is part of the Corteva Agriscience Symposia Series.
When and where will the symposium take place?
The 10th Annual UF Plant Science Symposium will be held on January 20–21, 2026, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, with optional post-conference workshops on January 22.
Is there a hybrid option?
Yes. The symposium will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend in person at the University of Florida or virtually through a live webinar.
Is the event open to the public?
Yes! The symposium is open to anyone interested in plant science.
Will participants receive a Certificate of Attendance?
Yes. Certificates are available upon request at the end of Day 2. To request one, email info@ufplants.org with the subject line “PSS2026 Certificate” and include your full name and affiliation.
Registration and Abstracts
How do I register for the symposium?
Registration will open in Fall 2025. Details and links for both in-person and virtual registration will be available on this website once registration begins.
Is there a fee to attend?
The symposium is free to attend, and lunch is provided for in-person participants.
Can I submit an abstract to present my research?
Yes! Abstract submissions will open alongside registration. Both oral and poster presentation opportunities will be available to undergraduate and graduate students.
Can virtual attendees present?
At this time, student presentations must be delivered in person. However, all registered virtual attendees will have access to the live-streamed keynote and speaker sessions as well as a virtual poster gallery.
Workshops and Networking
Are there any workshops during the event?
Yes. The symposium will include professional and technical workshops, including a post-symposium workshop day on January 22, 2026.
Will virtual attendees have access to workshops?
Some workshops may be available virtually depending on capacity and format. Details will be announced closer to the event.
Will there be networking opportunities?
The symposium includes multiple networking sessions, coffee breaks, and an after symposium social event on Day 1 for in-person attendees.
